Recently, Beijing Subway Line 5's first train whose signaling system has undergone renovation was successfully delivered and placed on track. The train is now equipped with functions such as load factor monitoring and cabin temperature and humidity monitoring, and devices including a smoke alarm.

To cope with the renovation of the signaling system and other supporting systems for Line 5, Beijing Metro Operation Administration Corporation has simultaneously upgraded the signaling systems on the line's trains, with EUHT (enhanced ultra-high throughput) equipment added in cabins and the existing in-cabin signaling equipment upgraded. The upgrade completed this time also included the addition of a video perception monitoring system, which can monitor load factor, detect smoke and fire, abnormalities in LED and LCD displays, cabin temperature and humidity, and exterior light levels. This further improves the performance and comfort of the train concerned.
The renovation of ground-based signaling equipment on Line 5 was officially initiated in March this year. Currently, the project's first train has gone through initial inspection, and will soon move into the phases of debugging as well as installation of equipment in the sample section.
