This October, three all-age-friendly parks in Beijing's Chaoyang District, namely Beixiaohe Park, Dawangjing Park, and Huahui Ziwei Park, have been renovated and reopened to the public. Let's take a look!

Beixiaohe Park

Beixiaohe Park has been transformed into a demonstrative boundary-free garden for all age groups. It is now a vibrant space that blends garden-style offices, trendy leisure spots, sports zones, and more.

The upgrades include additional facilities and expanded activity areas for all age groups, removal of fences for green spaces with better visibility, and improved playgrounds for both children and seniors, leading to the overall improvement of the park's services.

Dawangjing Park

Dawangjing Park consists of two main sections: the east and west sections.

The east section is the focus of the recent renovation, with 6 hectares upgraded. The layout has been reconfigured to include colorful street landscapes, an improved system for strolling, and age-friendly features, forming a scenic structure marked by "two shores, one loop, and two zones".

The "two shores" refer to a vibrant waterfront for all ages and an urban green shore. The "one loop" is a healthy greenway. The "two zones" include a children's play zone and a forest wellness zone.

Huahui Ziwei Park

Built in 2007, the park is home to the largest and most diverse collection of crape myrtles in Beijing.

During the renovation, the park was redesigned to accommodate visitors of all ages. It now includes an active play area for strength and aerobic exercises, a family area suitable for childcare and leisure activities, a health and relaxation area dedicated to wellness activities such as fitness, tai chi, calligraphy, gardening, and board games, and a community interaction space for group activities and interactions among children of different ages.
