During summer vacation, several municipal parks have enhanced their peak-season services by opening additional gates, adding heat-mitigation facilities, and providing smart translators.
Fragrant Hills Park recently opened Yutai Gate to integrate the Xiangshan section of the Western Hills trail, completing the route. Over 130 guide boards have been installed to help visitors find their positions and enjoy safe and convenient mountain climbing .
The Summer Palace has installed 51 AI translators, including multilingual intercom systems at the East, North, and New Palace Gates that can recognize and translate 75 languages. Additionally, handheld smart translators have been deployed at 48 locations, including tourist service centers and boat docks, ensuring multilingual services on all visitor routes.
Taoranting Park has installed shade canopies over multiple seating areas to ensure visitors can cool off and rest nearby. Communal mosquito repellent stations have been set up along the main pathways from the East Gate to the North Gate recreational area, as well as in rest zones and other high-traffic visitor areas, making repellent readily accessible.
All municipal parks and the Museum of Chinese Gardens and Landscape Architecture provide free emergency medical kits and AED stations, including heatstroke medicine and cooling gel patches. Free drinking water is available at tourist service centers, shops, among other locations.
From early July to August 31, multiple municipal parks will open their cultural relics and ancient architectural compounds, gardens, and museums on Mondays:
