Renovation of the permanent venue of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) at Shougang Park was fully completed. With its outstanding engineering quality, the project was honored with the Beijing Excellent Building (Great Wall) Structural Works in June 2026. This September, Shougang Park will welcome the 2026 CIFTIS with a fresh new look as a "cool and vibrant" international exhibition hub.
The venue's master plan builds modern exhibition facilities into the park's industrial heritage. Drawing on the "Two Parks and One River" layout, which encompasses Shougang Park, the Beijing Garden Expo Park, and the Yongding River, the venue links the river's waterfront with the surrounding urban area so the two reinforce each other.
The venue has undergone a major expansion, with exhibitor support facilities significantly upgraded. Equipped with meeting rooms, VIP lounges and other facilities, the venue is ready to host a wide spectrum of events, including international summits, industry forums, corporate signing ceremonies, business negotiations and new-product launches. In terms of spatial layout, the project links multiple old factory buildings to build an open-air garden-style exhibition cluster. More than 30 new shops have been added, and smart parking and a park-wide smart dispatching system have been upgraded, catering to both receptions for professional exhibitors and casual visitors alike. The result brings exhibition, commercial consumption and urban leisure together on one site.
Halls 2, 3 and 4 of the venue, which are newly built, all feature weathering-steel facades in three tones: steel grey, rust red and metallic silver, which perfectly echo Shougang's industrial characteristics. Meticulously planned viewing corridors are incorporated into this renovation project to link mountains, water bodies, blast furnaces and Winter Olympic landmarks. Three landscape-oriented viewing corridors also offer distant views of the Western Hills, the Yongding River, and Qunming Lake. Four industrial-heritage viewing corridors frame vistas of Blast Furnace No.3 and No.4, cooling towers, and the Big Air Shougang. This brings about a high-degree integration of exhibition venues and the natural environment.
