Annual Global Digital Economy Conference Kicks off in Beijing

The Global Digital Economy Conference 2023 (hereinafter referred to as "the Conference") was inaugurated in Beijing on the evening of July 4.

At the opening ceremony, representatives from 18 partner cities jointly released the Global Digital Economy Partner City Cooperation Initiative, including Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Busan in South Korea, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Copenhagen in Denmark, London in the United Kingdom, Nagano in Japan, San Francisco in the United States, and China's Macao Special Administrative Region.

This initiative includes six aspects as it inspires all to promote exchanges and cooperation between cities worldwide, share a mutually beneficial market environment open for all, foster an eco-system conducive to digital-tech innovation, accelerate urban digital transformation, support green development empowered by digital technologies, and propel inclusive cooperation on the global digital sector. It aims to establish a network for opening up and innovation in the digital economy among cities worldwide.

The Conference this year has Singapore, a member state of the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement, as the guest country of honor. A series of activities have been organized at sub-venues in Singapore to expand such globally win-win cooperation in the digital sector.

Themed "Data Driven Development, Intelligence Leading the Future", the Global Digital Economy Conference 2023 launched on July 4 will last until July 7. The Conference this year highlights digital industry development, smart city construction, social governance, digital transformation, and other areas to put the initiative in place. Besides, the Conference aims to boost the global economy with new impetus by enhancing the synergy among cities and shared achievements of the digital economy.
