The Beijing Representative Office of the International Esports Committee (Belgium) was officially inaugurated in Beijing's Chaoyang District on March 10. The office is located in the Cluster for Headquarters of International Science and Technology Organizations. This marks that Beijing has become a key global hub for esports governance and industrial development.

With the official launch of its Beijing office, the International Esports Committee (IEC) will operate under a dual-headquarters structure comprising its global headquarters registered in Brussels and its working headquarters in Beijing. According to the plan, the functions of the IEC Secretariat will gradually be transferred to the Beijing office, to make Beijing the operational core of the organization's global operations. The IEC announced that, following the opening of its Beijing office, it will promptly launch tasks in such areas as the research for global esports standardization, the promotion of green esports, and the international exchange programs for esports professionals. It also aims to facilitate the hosting of top-tier international esports events and industrial summits in Beijing.

Since 2023, Chaoyang has been intensifying its efforts to develop the Cluster for Headquarters of International Science and Technology Organizations, aiming to establish a comprehensive platform for international sci-tech organizations worldwide. The establishment of the IEC Beijing Representative Office in this cluster is expected to bring new international innovation resources to the digital culture sector of both Chaoyang District and Beijing as a whole.
