Swire Group recently kicked off its China summit in Beijing's Central Business District (CBD). Since the start of this year, the Beijing CBD has hosted a series of high-profile headquarters events — including global board meetings and brand summits by Saudi Aramco, Hamamatsu Photonics China, and Swire Group — highlighting the strong appeal of China's high-level opening-up. The "Global Boardroom for Headquarters Enterprises" has now become one of the flagship event series of the Beijing CBD Forum.
Founded in 1816, Swire Group boasts a history spanning more than two centuries and is among the earliest multinational companies to invest in China. Beijing has long served as the focal point of the Group's operations in China. Swire Properties's first project in the Chinese mainland was Taikoo Li Sanlitun, followed by INDIGO in the Jiuxianqiao area of Jiangtai, which is currently undergoing its Phase II expansion.
To further attract foreign-invested enterprises to establish regional headquarters and offices in China, the Beijing CBD has established Global Business Reception Halls in the CP Center and the China Central Place. These hubs offer one-stop services for headquarters enterprises — covering resource matchmaking, industrial investment, technological innovation, application scenarios, talent support, and IPO guidance. Serving as both bridges and gateways, these venues provide foreign enterprises, overseas institutions, and international professionals with opportunities in China, while promoting the headquarters economy within the Beijing CBD.
As of now, the Beijing CBD has recognized 123 regional headquarters of multinational corporations, accounting for nearly half of the city's total. According to the "2025 China Headquarters Economy Development Index" released in September, the Beijing CBD once again ranked first nationwide in overall competitiveness among business districts.
