In 2024, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region achieved a total import and export value of CNY 5.03 trillion, setting a new historical high, with a year-on-year growth of 0.1 percent.
Over the past 11 years of coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Beijing's foreign trade has consistently accounted for more than 65 percent of the total foreign trade volume in the region, with the share rising to over 70 percent in the past three years. Beijing's contribution to the region's foreign trade growth has reached 81.8 percent during this period.
Key highlights of the region's foreign trade performance in 2024 include active participation of private enterprises in foreign trade, a leading share of bulk commodity imports, rapid growth of foreign trade in the pharmaceutical and health industry cluster, and strong momentum in foreign trade of the high-tech manufacturing sector.
