On November 8, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality held the launching ceremony of the Experiencing Beijing Services for International Friendship Ambassadors. A total of 40 foreign nationals, including staff at foreign companies in Beijing, specialists, students, and journalists, were invited to become the first International Friendship Ambassadors.
The experiencing program is a new initiative aimed at improving the international services in Beijing and establishing a regular communication channel with foreigners in Beijing. The International Friendship Ambassadors can participate in a wide range of events hosted regularly by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, to learn in person about Beijing's international services and offer their thoughts and advice. They can also send feedback and suggestions to the Foreign Affairs Office based on their experiences and problems they have encountered while studying, living, and working in Beijing.
After the launching ceremony, the participants began their first offline trip by visiting SOLANA, China's first "consumption-friendly inbound business district", where they experienced the convenient service measures by themselves. Later, they watched a performance titled "Auspicious Phoenix Facing Chaoyang" (吉凤朝阳) of the 2024 Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival by the Liangma River at night.
