From April 1 to 12, the Broadway musical "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" will be staged at Beijing Poly Theatre.

Adapted from the beloved children's novel by Roald Dahl, the production premiered in London's West End in 2013 and went on to win multiple Laurence Olivier Awards. Since then, it has recorded over 1 million views worldwide. The music in the drama not only includes original works, but also pays tribute to the classical songs created by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley in the 1971 film version, including "The Candy Man", "I've Got a Golden Ticket", and "Pure Imagination".
The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates of his mysterious chocolate factory—but only to a handful of lucky ones. Young Charlie Bucket and four other Golden Ticket holders will embark on a life-changing adventure, exploring Wonka's fantastical world filled with chocolate waterfalls, mischievous squirrels, and a magical glass elevator—all revealed with the help of Wonka's curious little workers. The Beijing sessions will present the global touring version and bring this imaginative story to local audiences, transcending language and cultural barriers and share its timeless themes of kindness, imagination, and hope with them.
