Gales Disrupt Weekend: Marathons Postponed, Parks Closed in BJ

Under the influence of a strong cold front, extreme gales are forecast to sweep across the Beijing region this weekend, according to the Beijing Meteorological Observatory. As a result, several sporting events in the city have announced postponements. 

BOB Beijing MC Marathon
Originally scheduled time: 7:30April 13
Rescheduled to: 7:30, April 19 (Saturday) 

Beijing E-Town Half Marathon & Humanoid Robot Half Marathon
Originally scheduled time: April 13
Rescheduled to: April 19

Shunyi Houshayu Talent Community Half Marathon
Originally scheduled time: April 13
Rescheduled to: April 26

In addition to the event postponements, multiple parks and tourist attractions in Beijing have also been temporarily closed.

Beijing World Park
Temporary closure: 17:00, on April 11 (Friday) to 22:00 on April 12 (Saturday)

White Pagoda Temple
Temporary closure: April 12 (Saturday)

Beijing Jinshui Lake Scenic Area
Temporary closure: April 11–13. Visitors who have reserved or purchased tickets for these dates may request a full refund through their original booking channels.

Beijing Xishan National Forest Park
Temporary closure: April 12 (Saturday)

Alpha Adventure Camp at Wenyuhe Park
Temporary closure: April 12–13 (Saturday and Sunday)

Hanjian Cuixigu Children's World
Temporary closure: April 12

Qianlingshan Park
Temporary closure: 17:00 on April 11 to 18:00 on April 12

Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park
Temporary closure: April 11–14. Visitors with unused purchased tickets may apply for a full refund through their original booking channels.

Notice: Avoid non-essential outings. If travel is necessary, limit the use of bicycle and e-bike. Drivers are advised to monitor road conditions closely, reduce speed, increase following distance, and give way to pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles to ensure safety.
