The memorial hall was located on Dongshoulu Street in Dongcheng District and moved to its current address in the 1970s, housing seven exhibition halls and a foyer. It is a social science-themed memorial hall dedicated to presenting the life, artworks and collections of Xu Beihong, a renowned painter of China. The monumental traditional Chinese painting "Jiufang Gao" (九方皋) on display expresses the artist's sincere aspiration to discover talented individuals. Another masterpiece, "Tian Heng and His Five Hundred Followers" (田横五百士), embodies the noble virtues of the characters' unyielding integrity, steadfastness, and incorruptibility in the face of wealth and power. Furthermore, dozens of sketches on display demonstrate the artist's profound mastery of sketching techniques.
