China National Botanical Garden

Approved by the State Council on December 28, 2021, and relying on the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IBCAS) and Beijing Botanical Garden, China National Botanical Garden was jointly built by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and People's Government of Beijing Municipality. It prioritizes the off-site conservation of plants while engaging in scientific research, science popularization, horticulture and offering cultural leisure activities.

Located at the foot of the Western Hills of Beijing, China National Botanical Garden comprises the South Garden (IBCAS) and North Garden (Beijing Botanical Garden), with about 300 hectares of the total area currently open to the public, and 15,000 plant species (including ranks below species).
