The 14th Beijing International Film Festival Kicks off

To mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France this year, a French film week will be held in Beijing from April 18 to 26. Multiple cinemas across Beijing will screen 30 different French films, including "A Real Job," which is nominated for this year's Tiantan Award, showcasing rich themes and diverse styles.

The 14th BJIFF will also introduce the inaugural "Film Season for Diplomats," using film as a medium to promote international dialogue and cultural exchange. In addition, the festival will debut the "International Guest Lounge," providing a platform for networking and collaboration between international guests and domestic film industry stakeholders.

A variety of engaging activities are planned, including discussions on topics such as the global distribution of Chinese films and the evolving role of domestic cinema productions at international festivals. With guests from North America, Europe, South America and Japan, the event promises to spark insightful conversations and pave the way for Chinese cinema's global rise in today's dynamic and burgeoning industry landscape.
