From April 9 to May 5, the 14th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) Science and Technology Section & CSTM Popular Science Film Panorama will kick off at the special-effect cinemas of the China Science and Technology Museum.
The films to be screened in the Science & Technology section of BJIFF 2024 cover a variety of themes, including nature, growth, agriculture, and space, appealing to audiences of all ages. Ticket sales for these films started from 18:00 on April 2. To book tickets and make reservations, audiences can visit the official website of the China Science and Technology Museum.
This year, BJIFF will showcase a total of 33 special-effect films from countries such as China, Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Sweden. A total of 14 films of other types, including documentaries for science education, films about scientist spirit, and sci-fi short films for charity, will also be presented. Among all the films to be screened, there will be 18 to be premiered in China, including "Kitz the Cat's Supermoon Adventure", and eight to be premiered in Asia, including "Blue Whales: Return of the Giants".
Audiences visiting the immersive special-effect cinemas at the China Science and Technology Museum will have the opportunity to enjoy 10 dome films, 25 giant-screen films, and 12 4D films. Among them"The Real Stars in the Universe", a 4K dome film, and "The Mission to Mars", a giant-screen film, both produced by the museum itself, will have their Asian premieres during the festival.
