Lee In-ho, an investor from South Korea, recently obtained his company license for the Beijing Maide Hongtu Technology Co., Ltd. at the Fengtai District Government Service Center after finishing identity verification via the "E Chuang Tong" (e窗通) WeChat mini-program. This is the first enterprise registered in Beijing by an investor from a country covered by a visa-free entry policy in China through a much simplified process.
The Beijing Municipal Administration of Market Supervision has modified its registration policy and made it easier for foreigners entering the Chinese mainland under visa-free policy to go through verification of their identity documents. The new actions are part of the administration's efforts to facilitate foreign investment and improve the city's business environment. Nowadays, natural people from visa-free countries can quickly finish identity verification with their valid passports through the "E Chuang Tong" (e窗通) WeChat mini-program for enterprise services in Beijing, or by on-site verification of their original passports.
This initiative reduces the notarization process, with the time to establish a foreign-funded enterprise shortened from the past 2 to 3 months to as fast as 1 day.
Lee said: "It is a great honor to be the first investor in Beijing to benefit from this new policy. I never expected that setting up a company in Beijing would be so convenient and efficient. The new policy has saved us a lot of time and energy, giving us great confidence in our future development in China."
