Starting from May 30, all trains operated by Beijing Subway Limited (except for those of the Capital Airport Express) switched on dual-temperature carriage mode, with a fixed temperature difference of 2℃ between the "cold" and "cool" carriages. Specifically, for underground lines, the temperature in cold carriages is set to 24℃ while that in cool carriages is set to 26℃. For ground subway lines, temperatures in the carriages are set to 23℃ and 25℃, respectively. The temperatures will be adjusted based on weather conditions, passenger flow, and other factors.

Due to differences in train configurations across different lines, the positions of these carriages vary. Passengers can choose their preferred carriages by following the signs on platform doors and inside carriages, as well as through station and in-train announcements.

The positions of these carriages are designated based on the directions of train operation.

For Lines 6 and 7, carriages No. 1, 2, 7, and 8 are cold ones, while carriages No. 3, 4, 5, and 6 are cool ones.

For Lines 3, 11, and 12, carriages No. 1 and 4 are cold ones, while carriages No. 2 and 3 are cool ones.

For other lines, carriages No. 1, 2, 5, and 6 are cold ones, while carriages No. 3 and 4 are cool ones.

In addition, Beijing Subway has recently introduced several other cooling services.

Multiple lines have upgraded their train hardware for smarter temperature control. Trains on lines such as Fangshan Line, Line 1-Batong Line, Line 9, and Changping Line have gradually been retrofitted with inverter air-conditioning systems, effectively improving passenger comfort. On Line 10 (Phase I), the number of train units equipped with air purifiers and air quality monitors has increased to 56, significantly improving the in-carriage air quality.

This year, a campaign has been launched to replace 3,883 outdated air-conditioning units/sets with upgraded ones at 23 stations, including Dongzhimen Station on Line 13 and Dabaotai Station on Fangshan Line. This aims to greatly enhance the trains' cooling and ventilation efficiency. At the elevated stations on Line 15, approximately 700 square meters of heat-insulating film has been installed, effectively blocking heat and making the waiting areas cooler and more comfortable.

Starting May 30, free cooling fans have been distributed to passengers at key stations, including Qianmen and Xizhimen stations, with emergency kits introduced, containing heat-relief and emergency supplies such as cooling oil for heatstroke.
