The Baitasi Area
White Pagoda of the Miaoying Temple: The White Pagoda over red walls is an iconic scene in downtown Beijing. Cycle around the pagoda leisurely to experience the serene atmosphere of this ancient Yuan-dynasty temple.
Gongmenkou Dongcha Hutong: Here, you will find interesting boutiques amid old residential yards. Yao café's rooftop terrace offers an excellent photo opportunity with the White Pagoda in the background.
Lu Xun Museum: Free of charge, the museum features a tree-shaded courtyard - an ideal spot for a quiet rest.
Shichahai - Gulou West Street
Cycle along Houhai Beiyan Street and enjoy the picturesque lake views, where willows grace the banks and the Bell Tower and Drum Tower are clearly visible in the distance. Along Yandai Xiejie, there are some handicraft stores to visit — perfect for a short stroll.
Gulou West Street: With tree shades on both sides, the street connects a number of theaters and cafés. A recommendation is Stillwater Café.
Xisi Ancient Building Complex
Temple of Emperors of Successive Dynasties in China: Cycle pass the vermilion gates and walls to feel the solemnity of this historic site representing the glory of dynastic China.
Zhengyang Bookstore: Located at the entrance of Zhuanta Hutong, this traditional siheyuan-style bookstore features an 800-year-old pagoda in it and offers a curated collection of literature on old Beijing.

Niujie Street - Shuru Hutong
Niujie is one of Beijing's most iconic destinations for halal cuisine. Top recommendations are the zhagao (deep-fried sticky rice cakes) at Hongji Snacks, and the pepper-sesame shaobing (crispy baked flatbread) at Manji Shaobing.
Shuru Hutong: This is a great place to enjoy the hustle and bustle of ordinary people's daily life. Stalls sell fresh raw beef and lamb while time-honored pastry shops serve a wide variety of traditional Beijing-style snacks.
Huguosi Street - Xingyuan Restaurant
You may try the signature Beijing snacks douzhi (fermented green bean juice) and jiaoquan (fried rings) at the headquarters of Huguosi Snacks and taste some imperial-style desserts at Fuhuazhai Pastry at the end of the street.
Xingyuan Restaurant: This time-honored catering brand is mainly known for knife-cut noodles, which go well with the signature dish sweet and sour pork tenderloin. You may stop here and replenish your energy before cycling on.
Modern Commercial Route
Financial Street Green Cycling Lane
Starting from Jinshu Street, you can ride along a dedicated green cycling lane amid modern office buildings and feel the beauty of a neat and chic street view.
Beijing Fun: This is an open commercial block near Qianmen. On the top floor of PageOne Bookstore, you can see the Zhengyang Gate Tower in the distance.
Xidan The New
This new shopping mall features the minimalist style. There is a cyclists' station on B1 for you to rest and refill your supplies. The glass curtain wall makes it a great place to take classy photos.
