On September 23, a giant flower basket inscribed with the Chinese characters "祝福祖国" (Blessing to Our Motherland) was installed at Tian'anmen Square, decorated with an abundance of flowers in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Don't forget to make a reservation in advance before you go to the square.
Tian'anmen Square requires real-name reservations for visits. Both individuals and tourist groups should book their time slots one to seven days in advance through the Reservation Platform of Tian'anmen Square for Visitors (天安门广场预约参观服务平台).
During the National Day holiday (October 1-7), there will be a large flow of visitors for activities such as the flag-raising ceremony at the square. To ensure safety and order, temporary measures will be taken to divert the flow of visitors. Locals and tourists planning to attend the flag-raising ceremony at Tian'anmen Square must each select a time slot for entry and a verification location when making their reservations. Visitors who have failed to book a time slot in advance will not be permitted to watch the ceremony. According to the reservation guidelines, available reservation dates are updated daily at 12:00. Reservations for the flag-raising ceremony on October 1 can be made today (September 24). If you use Tian'anmen's WeChat mini program for reservations, please make sure to upgrade your WeChat to the latest version.
Locals and tourists must present their valid identity documents, such as the Resident ID Card, and undergo on-site reservation verification and public security check. Within seven days after the visit, you can view and download your commemorative certificate (electronic version) for free in your corresponding reservation record.
