The inaugural Mutianyu International Chestnut Harvest Festival (国际板栗丰收节) will be held from September 19 to 30, offering visitors the chance to experience the joy of harvesting chestnuts in golden autumn.

In September, the cool autumn breezes blow through Mutianyu, filling the air with the delightful aroma of chestnuts. During the festival, a special harvest-themed street will open at the foot of the Great Wall, bringing together chestnut-themed handicrafts and a variety of mountain specialties. Visitors can sample the unique flavors of the Great Wall Chestnut Banquet, featuring dishes such as braised pork with chestnuts, sugar-roasted chestnuts, and chestnut-flavored coffee.

A chestnut-peeling challenge will be held on site, where the fastest participants will receive themed gifts. Several harvest-themed photo spots will be set up throughout the scenic area, complete with costumed characters for interactive photo opportunities. Live demonstrations of traditional craftsmanship will also be staged one after the other.
