As the weather starts to cool, let's discover some soothing and relaxing moments in Beijing and experience the gentle charm of early autumn.
Summer Palace

Beijing's autumn romance begins with a hint of osmanthus fragrance at the Summer Palace. Around the Autumn Equinox each year, osmanthus flowers bloom throughout the park. Their sweet scent drifts on the breeze carrying a touch of coolness, melting away all your worries and anxieties as the imperial garden takes on its enchanting autumn charm.
Labagou Primitive Forest Park

Here, you can get a head start on Beijing's autumn colors. The layered foliage in the mountain forest transitions from emerald green to pale yellow and crimson, creating a richly textured autumn landscape. Along the forest trails, the autumn breeze whispers through the trees, dappled sunlight filters through the foliage, and birdsong fills the air, allowing you to unwind and enjoy the sense of freedom that nature brings.
Beiwu Park

The verdant rice paddies in this park contrast beautifully with the blue sky, white clouds, and the distant Yuquan Pagoda. Every snapshot captures the soothing beauty of autumn. To the south is Zhongwu Park, with the Xijiao Line tram running between the two parks. The rice paddies in Zhongwu Park are terraced, making it an ideal spot for taking in the scenery and photographing the landscape from a distance.
Taoranting Park

The 4th Chrysanthemum Culture Festival at Taoranting Park is about to begin. Come stroll through the gardens, admire the autumn chrysanthemums and savor the charm of the season. Here, you can immerse yourself in the poetic beauty of autumn evoked by ancient Chinese poets.
Liangma River

The waterfront promenade here is clean and refreshing, with European-style buildings reflected in the shimmering water, creating a fresh and relaxed atmosphere. You can also take the Liangma River night cruise to enjoy the scenery on both banks. The 2026 Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival – Consumption Season is now underway, and the first immersive night-tour experience on the Liangma River is scheduled to open to the public on September 24, with performances scheduled at specific times.
Mutton in a Traditional Beijing Copper Pot

As autumn winds begin to blow, head to time-honored restaurants such as Donglaishun, Jubaoyuan, and Ya'er Liji for a taste of traditional Beijing mutton hotpot. Cooked in an old-fashioned copper pot over charcoal with a clear broth base, tender slices of mutton are dipped in the broth and then coated in sesame paste, creating a rich and savory flavor. This is a taste of autumn unique to Beijing.
