The "Blooming Beijing" 2026 Chinese Rose Culture Festival kicked off on May 18. This year, the festival features 12 exhibition zones covering nearly 400,000 square meters. Over 3,000 Chinese rose varieties across nine color ranges are awaiting. Check out some of the top choices for flower viewing!
Temple of Heaven Park

Most of its Chinese roses can be found in the dedicated Chinese Rose Garden, with Chinese rose-lined flower belts around. The exhibition zone spans around 20,000 square meters and holds more than 300 varieties. During the festival, the park will host a range of educational activities including guided tours and educational lectures. Dedicated personnel are also in place for consultation about Chinese rose cultivation.

China National Botanical Garden (North Garden)

The 7-hectare Chinese Rose Garden houses dedicated zones for Old Garden roses, Floribunda roses, "David Austin" roses and more, presenting nearly 1,000 varieties. A potted rose exhibition on the west side features over 200 pots of cultivars including "Love & Peace" and "Blue Storm".

Taoranting Park

The Shengchun Shanfang (胜春山房) scenic area, a specialized Chinese rose garden on the west side of the park, covers about 14,000 square meters. It currently grows over 20 varieties including hybrid tea roses, Floribunda roses, climbing roses and groundcover roses, with more than 19,000 plants in total.

Huaxiang Park

An 8-hectare expanse of Chinese roses dazzles visitors with more than 150 varieties and 350,000 plants. Rare Floribunda varieties such as "Red Apple" and "Scarlet Bonica" are recent additions, paired with climbing rose varieties like "Florentina" and "Lady of Shalott", creating a vibrant spectacle.

World Chinese Rose Theme Garden

Spanning about 658 mu (43.87 hectares), the theme park boasts over 70,000 plants of over 1,700 Chinese rose varieties. Besides diverse themed zones, the immersive displays in the core cultural venues of the Chinese Rose Museum are also worth a visit.

Central Green Forest Park

Jingwan Friendship Rose Garden presents over 170 new Chinese and foreign varieties from six major rose groups and seven color ranges. Its 2,600-square-meter core zone showcases the diversity of Chinese roses and horticultural evolution through themed sections. The surrounding 20,000-square-meter landscape features an expanse of roses, a rose valley, pergolas and columns—ideal for photo-taking and relaxing.

Garden of World's Flowers

Over 3,000 Chinese rose plants of about 150 varieties are displayed across planting belts, the climbing rose zone, the viewing zone and the miniature landscape zone. During the festival, an ingeniously designed dopamine color zone features Chinese roses with more than 20 other flower species (common sage, rocket larkspur, hydrangea and others) in quantities of tens of thousands, delivering a striking visual impact.

Beijing Expo Park

Over 300,000 plants cover a total area of around 50,000 square meters. The Chinese roses will reach full bloom in early June, with prime viewing time anticipated from June 15 to October 10. The park will also host educational activities, a photo-taking campaign and more to enrich visitors' experiences.
