On May 9, the launch ceremony for the 2026 Talent Development Program for International Organizations, a program which is led by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, was held at the Capital University of Economics and Business. Five participating universities will establish an inter-university collaborative training system covering the entire development chain of talents, which underlines curriculum teaching, lectures, exchanges, assessment, talent reserve, and practical internships, with focuses on five key modules, including global governance and the international organization systems, international rules, and multilateral governance mechanisms. Qualified students will also be systematically recommended for internship programs at international organizations.
International organizations have become crucial platforms for China to engage in global competition, demonstrate its commitment as a major country, and safeguard its national interests. The CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality aim to foster a group of young talents who truly understand how international organizations are operated, with global perspectives, professional competence and cross-cultural communication skills.
The program is led by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, with its first batch of students selected from 24 pilot universities across Beijing.
