Stroll Through a Sea of Blossoms

Cherry blossom viewing is a must when visiting the Beixiao River. More than 6,000 cherry trees of over 60 varieties have been planted along the river and in nearby parks. Along both sides of the waterfront, over 3,000 trees stretch for 4.2 kilometers, making the Beixiao River Beijing's first "cherry blossom river". Early-blooming cherry blossoms are expected to reach their peak from late March to early April, followed by late-blooming varieties in mid-April.

After enjoying the blossoms, visitors can also explore nearby commercial areas. Well-known shopping and dining destinations, such as Joyful Ode and Wangjing Food Street, are located along the river and are conveniently connected by bridges, waterways, and pedestrian-friendly pathways.

Take a Boat to Enjoy the Flowers and Spring to the Fullest

Boat tours offer another way to experience the Beixiao River's blossoms. Starting April 3, water cruises will be in operation, allowing visitors to enjoy more than 20 cultural, commercial, tourism, and sports activities along the river. In addition, different sections of the river feature different types of boats. Traditional sculling boats can be boarded at Donghuwan Dock near Beixiao River Park. At the temporary Beihu Lock Dock, you can take electric boats to travel between Beihu Lock and Donghu Lock. To the east of Donghu Lock, open-top boats are available, which visitors can board at Kuntai Dock.

If you too enjoy viewing flowers, this is a place not to miss!
