Between Shichahai and Nanluoguxiang (South Luogu Lane) lies a river embankment that is 20 meters wide and stretches 800 meters in length – the Yu River section of the Tonghui River. Historically, Yu River served as the final segment of the Grand Canal's extensive water transport route, earning it the nickname of "the canal in the alley (Hutong)" among locals.
