The 2025 Beijing Grand Canal Dragon Boat Carnival will be held from May 31 to June 2 along the west bank of the Grand Canal in Tongzhou District, spanning the waters between Dongguan Bridge and Shangying Bridge.

This event features an opening ceremony, a Lingnan-style dragon boat show, the Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Consumption Festival, and six competitions: Dragon Boat Racing, Dragon Boat Tug-of-War Competition, Beijing Stand-Up Paddle Open, Beijing Canoeing Open, Beijing Tug-of-War Competition, and Beijing Arm Wrestling Open.

The dragon boat racing will feature a 200-meter straight track race at 8:50 on May 31 and a 500-meter straight track race at 10:30. There will also be two dragon boat drifting performances, one from 8:30 to 8:50 and another from 16:00 to 16:20.

Meanwhile, the Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Consumption Festival offers a vibrant mix of sports gear, cultural and creative souvenirs, light snacks and coffee, and folk activities. While enjoying intense races, visitors can also taste local delicacies and purchase unique merchandise.

With limited parking spaces nearby, green travel is recommended:

•Take Metro Line 6 to Beiyunhexi Station and go to the west bank on foot or by bike.

•Take Metro Line 6 to Beiyunhedong Station and go to the east bank on foot or by bike.

•Take Metro Line 6 to Tongzhou Beiguan Station and go to the west bank on foot or by bike.

Please note:

Bus T18 (North of Pingjiatong Village – West Entrance of Tianfu North Street) and Bus T44 (Tongli No.2 Community – Tongzhou Campus of Dongzhimen Hospital) will be temporarily rerouted, with some stops suspended.
