Route: South Square of the Big Air Shougang—Chang'an Mills—No. 1 Blast Furnace—No. 3 Blast Furnace—Silo—Yuansu Motorbike Town—Chagang'er Cycling Station—Shangri-La Shougang Park, Beijing—South Square of the Big Air Shougang
Stretching for 3.7 kilometers, this photography-friendly cycling route is suitable for both professionals and amateurs to tour around such landmarks as the Big Air Shougang and the No. 1 and No. 3 Blast Furnaces. The road surface is flat, and 84 percent of the route is illuminated by streetlights, making it a good option for night rides.
Starting/Ending Spot: South Square of the Big Air Shougang
Inspired by the Dunhuang flying apsaras, the Big Air Shougang, also known as the "Snow Apsaras", was the only newly-built venue in urban Beijing for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Stop 2: Chang'an Mills
Formerly an industrial plant of Shougang, Chang'an Mills is now a shopping mall with all sorts of dining options and trendy products.
Stop 3: No. 1 Blast Furnace
Following renovation, this blast furnace has got a new lease on life as SoReal Science Fiction Paradise.
Stop 4: No. 3 Blast Furnace
This blast furnace is now a complex combining a museum, an exhibition hall, and a bookstore.
Stop 5: Silo
The Silo of Shougang Park has turned itself into China's first large-scale metaverse digital experiential complex for the 2024 Metaverse Innovative Product Experience Season (June 27 to August 31).
Stop 6: M.LEMENTS Motorbike Town
Cool motorbikes are waiting for you here.
Stop 7: Chagang'er Cycling Station
Cyclists can take a break at this special rest area built out of old shipping containers.
Stop 8: Shangri-La Shougang Park, Beijing
This luxurious hotel is one of the official hotels of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. It cleverly preserves the structure of the industrial heritage site while integrating modern architectural aesthetics.
