On July 12, more than 50 participants of the China-Singapore Youth Leader Campus visited Shougang Park. During their trip, they were amazed by the transformation and development of Shougang Park.
In the lobby of Taolou Building in Shougang Park, the guide elaborated on the development history of Shougang Group. The scenes of Shougang on the new journey of the Chinese path to modernization deeply impressed Cheng Chuanqing, Assistant to the Tax Policy Directorate of the Singapore Ministry of Finance. He said: "The excellent technologies of Shougang displayed in the exhibition hall have created miracles in different eras and brought convenience to people's lives. They are really great."
Shougang Park is not only a witness to the glorious history of Beijing's industrial sectors, but also the venue for the freestyle skiing and snowboarding big air events at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. The members of the campus climbed to the top of the Big Air Shougang to feel the same excitement of athletes before leaping forward and experience the unique charm of this new landmark of urban revitalization.
At the starting area of the Big Air Shougang, Lin Shusen, a student from Singapore Management University, quickly pulled his friends over to take photos with the beloved mascots "Bing Dwen Dwen" and "Shuey Rhon Rhon". He said, "I think it's spectacular that Shougang has been transformed from a place for producing steel into a park marked by sustainable development. Seeing the Olympic logo in the rain today adds a sense of mystery."
There are a total of 823 companies in Shougang Park, including 409 innovative technology companies, and over 150 thigh-tech enterprises, specialized, refined, differential and innovative enterprises, and gazelle enterprises. Upon learning about these fact, Lin Yiling, a member of the National Youth Council of Singapore and Executive Director of the Market Department of 500Global (a venture capital firm), expressed strong interest. "I really like the concept of 'Second Life'. I see that this used to be a steel factory, and now it has become a place filled with technological and sports elements. Even the environment here is very elegant, exquisite, and beautiful."
After the visit, the participants went to Shougang Fund Industry and Finance Innovation Base to learn about enterprise incubation and listen to the experiences shared by excellent youth entrepreneurs.
