
Recently, two universities in Beijing have launched new institutes, bringing fresh energy to the higher education sector.

On April 13, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Minzu University of China was officially established. The institute focuses on fundamental research and core technologies in artificial intelligence, leading the development of related disciplines, building key research platforms, and strengthening its academic leadership in the field. The institute also aims to innovate talent cultivation models and explore new approaches to training artificial intelligence professionals through the integration of education and research, as well as industry-education collaboration.

On March 28, the School of New Materials and Future Technologies at Beijing Technology and Business University was inaugurated. The school comprises four departments: Advanced Materials, Functional Materials, Smart Materials, and Green Materials, covering a full academic pathway from undergraduate to doctoral levels. It emphasizes close collaboration between government, industry, academia, research, and application, aligning its work with Beijing's high-end, sophisticated and cutting-edge industries. Its research focuses on areas such as biodegradable materials for pollution control, lightweight materials for new energy vehicles, energy-efficient and fire-resistant construction materials, and semiconductor-related materials.
