Recently, the Haotian Carbon Neutral Park in Gongchen Sub-district, Fangshan, Beijing, was successfully selected for inclusion in the "2025 Beautiful China-Distinguished Green Space Users" case collection.

The park was originally a deserted site piled with 50,000 cubic meters of construction waste. After ecological restoration, it reopened in April 2022 with an innovative commitment to achieving carbon neutrality throughout its life cycle. As the first public space in China dedicated to this mission, it has completed a remarkable transformation from a construction waste site into a carbon neutrality model.

The park comprehensively utilizes over ten green technologies, including photovoltaic power generation, recycled building materials, and rainwater harvesting, to establish a complete low-carbon ecosystem. In terms of the energy system, the park achieves self-sufficiency, with surplus electricity fed into the grid, achieving carbon offsets of about 24 tons annually. The park is equipped with flexible DC chargers that enable bidirectional power supply between electric vehicles and the park's grid, ensuring energy security while offering new insights for future urban energy management. All irrigation water comes from collected rainwater and reclaimed water, while on-site treatment of garden waste and the extensive use of recycled building materials contribute to efficient resource circulation.
The park also serves as an environmental education platform, featuring informative display boards, an online VR exhibition hall, and real-time carbon neutrality data displays, allowing visitors to gain an intuitive understanding of low-carbon technologies during their tour.
