In Caochang Block, Beijing's first-ever all-electric energy substitution demonstration area, the integration of power facilities has revitalized the old hutongs there. The residents are benefiting from convenient living conditions with lower carbon emissions.

Caochang Block is situated in Qianmen Subdistrict, Dongcheng District, Beijing. In recent years, Beijing's urban power supply companies have orchestrated the phase-out of coal-fired heating in this area through the "coal-to-electricity" transformation project. Additionally, through the "gas-to-electricity" initiative, the block has been steadily promoting the adoption of all-electric kitchens and all-electric dining establishments, encouraging residents to cook in all-electric kitchens, without the old traditional LNG canisters. These efforts aim to provide a safer, cleaner living environment for residents.

The urban power supply companies are actively advancing the miniaturization, concealment, and landscaping of power equipment. Today, the development of the sustainable Caochang Block sets a new benchmark for establishing modern power systems in aging neighborhoods. As a result, residents of the old hutongs are embracing a "new era of energy consumption" characterized by "all-electricity".
