When the early summer breeze caresses the earth, Kolkwitzia amabilis (commonly known as "beauty bush") blooms quietly in its distinctive grace, adding a fresh and elegant touch to the season.

Kolkwitzia amabilis is a species endemic to China, admired for its elegant blooms. It holds high ornamental value in landscape gardening and has been widely introduced to Europe. It flowers from May to June and bears fruit from August to September.

In the China National Botanical Garden, the beauty bush can be found at the northeast side of the South Gate in the North Garden, as well as in the Yueji Garden and along the Chionanthus retusus-Kolkwitzia amabilis Street in the South Garden.
