The first Beijing Green Development Forum will be held in the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC) from September 22 to 24. The forum will feature 19 sub-events in total, including an green industry expo, five salons of green development, and 13 parallel forums.
Compared with the earlier Beijing Municipal Administrative Center Green Development Forum, this event has expanded the scope of participants. Shunyi, Changping, Fangshan, and Pinggu districts will, together with BMC, host salons to promote green development. In addition, in collaboration with 18 social organizations, the forum will host a range of sub-events, such as parallel forums, green science education sessions, and sub-events promoting low-carbon lifestyles. The numbers of experts, enterprises, citizens, and governmental authorities scheduled to participate—both online and offline—are expected to reach record highs.
At this forum, Beijing will present major achievements in its efforts to build an international benchmark city for the green economy. The unveiling ceremony of the National Green Technology Trading Center will be held, with several agreements to be signed on-site. Two publications will be released as well, namely the Standard System for Hydrogen Energy Industry in Beijing and the Blue Book on Beijing's Green Economy Development (2025).
As a highlight of the forum, the expo dedicated to the green industry will take place at the arc-shaped outdoor corridor connecting the three major cultural facilities of BMC. The expo will showcase Beijing's industrial development priorities for accelerating the development of an international benchmark city for the green economy.
