Since 2024, Beijing has intensified its efforts to make its "One Microgram" initiative more green-oriented. In the transition to new energy powered vehicles (machinery), the city has increased the number of new energy vehicles (NEVs) to 957,000 and the number of green enterprises to 140. There have been improvements in urban management practices. For example, all district governments have implemented well-targeted policies for road sections in poor pavement conditions. Up to 46 percent of construction sites have complied with dust control standards, and over 1,800 restaurants have improved their kitchen fume pollution control. Moreover, all-out efforts are also underway to address air pollution during the autumn and winter seasons. In line with the principle of encouraging advanced eco-friendly technologies, differentiated emission reduction measures are being taken, based on the level of pollution discharge.
