From January to October, the average PM2.5 concentration in Beijing was 31 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 3.1 percent. There were 234 days with good air quality, an increase of 16 days compared to last year; two days with heavy pollution (including one day affected by dust), a year-on-year decrease of six days.
Beijing has further advanced the ''One Microgram'' action, promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of its industrial, energy, and transportation sector, thereby improving the quality of development by greener industries.
By the end of October, the total ownership of new energy vehicles (NEVs) citywide reached 957,000, and the proportion of new energy powered non-road mobile machinery continued to increase to nearly 30 percent.
All districts in Beijing have coordinated their efforts to respond to pollution weather since October. From October 31 to November 2, Beijing activated yellow alerts for heavy air pollution, efficiently implementing the response measures. Ultimately, all these three days were level-3 mild pollution, one to two levels lower than the forecast.
Next, Beijing will continue to improve air quality, with a focus on reducing heavy pollution weather and prominent atmospheric environmental issues. It will make the utmost effort to consolidate its achievements in air quality improvement.
