2026-05-18

On May 16, Pingguoyuan, Gucheng and Babaoshan stations on the western section of Beijing's Subway Line 1 resumed operation.

The renovated Pingguoyuan Station now allows convenient transfers between Line 1, Line 6 and Line S1. A new Exit G (for Line 6) was opened at the same time. Security check facilities and ticket barriers have been relocated underground, with the number of barriers doubled to 42 and that of self-service ticket kiosks increased to 6.

The east and west halls of Pingguoyuan Station have been upgraded with new facilities, including nursing rooms, accessible restrooms, public service kits, drinking water stations, and power bank rental points. In addition, the station now has four more exits/entrances and five new elevators, ensuring barrier-free access for all passengers. Corridors and public areas are now equipped with digital displays, showing real-time train arrival updates, transit information, and information about nearby public services.

Gucheng and Babaoshan stations have been renovated to preserve their historical appearance while updating their aging facilities to eliminate hidden dangers. The exteriors, suspended ceilings, floors and walls have all undergone meticulous renovation. Additionally, the restrooms have been fully upgraded, and the tactile pathways improved. These improvements have made these old stations more passenger-friendly.

Notice:

Due to the follow-up project for the branch line of Line 1, Baojiao Amusement Park Station on Line 1 will remain closed, and trains will not stop at this station. Passengers are advised to plan trips (including routes and time) accordingly and follow the in-station announcements and instructions for transits.
