The Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) was founded in 2011. Under the principle of "Sharing the Screen, Shaping the Future", the BJIFF has experienced a process of strong start, leapfrog development, international presence and all-round upgrading, and developed its unique orientation and style of "Master, Mass and Market". The BJIFF has been growing in the level of guests, the popularity of entries, the degree of pitching project incubation, the wide range of trading factors at the film market and the attention to film forums, master classes and industry conservations. As a major platform for international exchanges, a barometer of the film market, an incubator of rising stars and new works, and a new cultural brand of Beijing, the BJIFF has become one of Beijing's most influential annual cultural events, and played an irreplaceable role in the development of China's film industry.
Hosted by China Media Group and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, organized by the Beijing Municipal Film Administration, the Beijing Municipal Radio and Television Bureau, Beijing Radio & Television Station, the Huairou District People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited, the 11th BJIFF is scheduled to take place from September 21 to 29, 2021 under the theme of "New Opportunity, New Horizon".
With the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China as the subject and main line, based on the experience of hosting the 10th BJIFF, the 11th BJIFF will still be held online and offline with emphasis on the online session.
