Recently, the renovation and upgrading project of the north square of the Beijingxi (Beijing West) Railway Station has been completed. The square is now an open, garden-style station precinct.

Four canopies at the station's entrances/exits have been dismantled. Two entrances/exits near both ends of the square have been permanently closed and converted into landscaped flower beds with built-in seating. Passengers heading to the underground parking lots can use the entrances/exits closer to the station building, which are just over 10 meters away from each other. In addition, the renovation and maintenance of the escalators are underway at the two entrances/exits in the center of the square, where the canopies have been removed, to further enhance the passengers' travel experiences.

The police booth previously located right on the landscaped axis linking the China Millennium Monument and the Beijingxi Railway Station, facing an entrance/exit, has been relocated to the eastern side of the square. This helps open sightlines and create a brighter and more spacious public space.

Meanwhile, the P3 Parking Lot at the Beijingnan (Beijing South) Railway Station officially opened on July 1. Unlike conventional parking facilities, this underground parking lot integrates a great deal of traditional Chinese cultural elements into its design. Inspired by the plum and orchid flowers—two of the "Four Noble Plants" (plum flowers, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum)—it infuses traditional Chinese aesthetics into every detail of the space through its color-specific zones and visual guidance system.

As a vital component supporting traffic management around the Beijingnan Railway Station, the renovated P3 Parking Lot fully meets the standards of the existing parking lots (P1, P2 and P4) in terms of smart operation and service efficiency. It features 199 standard parking spaces and 13 well-planned traffic lanes. With clear signage, well-organized functional zones and an intelligent parking guidance system, overall traffic efficiency has increased by 60 percent, while vehicles can exit every three seconds on average.

The P3 Parking Lot also features a dedicated 600-square-meter waiting area for ride-hailing passengers, equipped with seats, air conditioning, and an intelligent guidance system, which greatly improves the overall service capability of the transportation hub.

The Beijing Chaoyang Railway Station area will be built into a high-quality "urban living room" integrating transportation hub services and premium services for leisure.

The construction of the Chaoyang International Garden Harbor has also been put on the agenda. The station area will coordinate multiple transportation modes, including rail transit, buses, slow transportation means and ride-hailing services, while continuing to improve the surrounding road networks. Passenger transfers will become even more convenient and efficient once the entire Subway Line 3 is fully operational.

Leveraging the China Resources MixC TOD project south of the station, which is currently under construction, a commercial complex spanning more than 440,000 square meters is taking shape. In the future, this area will offer not only fancy shopping options, but also office spaces, entertainment programs, and cultural experiences.
