Recently, the south transport hub of Fengtai Railway Station has opened for passengers.
Located at the South Square of the Fengtai Railway Station, the south transport hub has a total construction area of 147,600 sqm. It has two underground floors and one floor above the ground. The ground part consists of two arc-shaped "big eye" buildings, one in the front and one in the back. The opening of the transportation hub has shortened the walking distance for passengers entering and exiting the station, and effectively reduced the impact of extreme weather on passenger travel.
Two bus lines, Dedicated Bus Line 149 and 4, were added during the initial phase of operation of the hub. In the future, more bus routes will be added depending on passenger demand. To make it easier for passengers to locate their destinations, a "runway-style signage" has been provided to guide passengers to efficiently transfer between subways, taxis, online ride-hailing vehicles and buses throughout their journey.
In addition to fast entry and exit services, the transport hub also provides passengers with more comfortable services, such as adding public hygiene areas and public leisure seats.
The Fengtai Railway Station Transport Hub is designed as two buildings, one in the south and one in the north. After the opening of the south hub, the north hub is also expected to open this year, when tourist buses and online ride-hailing vehicles will be introduced to better serve passengers.
