The remaining section of Beijing Subway's Line 17 is scheduled to open in the second half of this year. Upon opening, it will connect the northern and southern sections of Line 17, marking the completion of the entire line.

Entirely underground, Subway Line 17 is a north-south express line traversing the central urban area of eastern Beijing, with a total length of about 49.97 kilometers. It has 21 stations, including 10 transfer stations. Among these, 14 stations located within Chaoyang District are Qingheying, Hongjunying, Wangjing Xi (W), Taiyanggong, Xibahe, Zuojiazhuang, Workers' Stadium, Dongdaqiao, Yong'an Li, Guangqumen Wai, Panjiayuan Xi (W), Shilihe, Zhoujiazhuang, and Shibalidian.

The entire line is scheduled to open in three phases. The southern section (Jiahuihu-Shilihe) commenced operation in late 2021, while the northern section (Workers' Stadium-Weilaikexuechengbei (Future Science City North)) began operation in late 2023. Currently, these two sections are still operating separately. Once the entire line is completed, it will take approximately one hour to travel from Yizhuang in the south to Changping District in the north.
