Spouses and unmarried children under 18 years old of foreign nationals of Chinese descent working in Zhongguancun may apply for permanent residence alongside the employed personnel.

(I) Application Materials for Spouse
1. Two recent 2-inch color passport-style photos with a white background (front-facing, without headwear) and their digital copies submitted on a CD.
 
2. Photocopy of the applicant's valid foreign passport and visa.
 
3. Declaration of no criminal record issued abroad (documents shall be apostilled or certified by the Chinese embassy/consulate in that country, or submitted with a certificate issued by the embassy/consulate of the applicant's country in China; both documents and certifications shall be issued within six months prior to the acceptance date).

4. Photocopy of a health examination certificate issued by a Chinese government-designated health quarantine authority or a foreign medical institution authenticated by the Chinese embassy/consulate in that country (the designated authority in Beijing is the Beijing International Travel Healthcare Center; authentication shall be issued within six months prior to the acceptance date).
 
5. Photocopy of the Marriage Certificate (for marriages registered abroad: Marriage Certificates shall be apostilled or certified by the Chinese embassy/consulate in that country, or submitted with a certificate issued by the embassy/consulate of the applicant's country in China; documents and certifications shall be issued within six months prior to the date of application acceptance).

6. Photocopies of the employed individual's valid passport, Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card, and employment verification documentation. If applying together with the employed individual, the Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card is not required.
 
7. For applicants who previously held Chinese nationality: documentation proving foreign residency status, naturalization certificate or household registration transcript, and a photocopy of the Chinese private passport used during naturalization.
 
8. Personal resume (from age 18 to present, with continuous records of years and months).

(II) Application Materials for Children
 
1. Two recent 2-inch color passport-style photos with a white background (front-facing, without headwear) and their digital copies submitted on a CD.

2. Photocopy of the applicant's valid foreign passport and visa.
 
3. Photocopy of the Birth Certificate or Parentage Identification (Birth Certificates issued by foreign authorities shall be apostilled or certified by the Chinese embassy/consulate in that country, or submitted with a certificate issued by the embassy/consulate of the applicant's country in China).

4. Photocopy of the parents' Marriage Certificate (for marriages registered abroad: Marriage Certificates shall be apostilled or certified by the Chinese embassy/consulate in that country, or submitted with certificates issued by the embassy/consulate of the applicant's country in China; for divorced parents: a Court Ruling or Divorce Agreement proving the custodial relationship between the guardian and the applicant shall be submitted).

5. Photocopies of both parents' identification documents (Chinese-national parents shall provide Chinese ID cards and a household registration booklet; foreign-national parents shall provide valid passports and visas).
 
6. To process such applications, the applicant's nationality shall first be verified according to China's Nationality Law. For children born abroad, if one or both parents were Chinese nationals at the time of birth, documentation proving the foreign residency status of the Chinese-national parent(s) prior to the child's birth shall be submitted.

7. Photocopies of the employed individual's valid passport, Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card, and employment verification documentation. If applying together with the employed individual, the Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card is not required.
 
8. Personal resumes of both parents (from age 18 to present, with continuous records of years and months).

1. For spousal applications, both spouses shall sign the application form. For child applications, both parents shall sign the application form (if the parents are divorced, the custodial parent may submit the application).

2. Applicants who have changed their name shall provide proof of the name change.

3. Documents issued by foreign authorities shall be apostilled or certified by the Chinese embassy/consulate in the relevant country.

4. Foreign-language materials shall be translated into Chinese, with the translation stamped with the official seal of the translation company.

5. Original documents shall be verified before submitting their photocopies (a copy on A4-size paper).

6. Applicants requesting a Chinese name printed on the Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card shall specify this in the "Other Notes" section of the application form.

7. Individuals who have not canceled their Chinese household registration or ID card shall complete cancellation before applying.
