Beijing has been experiencing high temperatures accompanied by increased humidity. Even without extreme heat, the weather can still feel hot, sticky, and uncomfortable.
Over the next two days, most areas of Beijing will be sunny, with scattered showers or even thundershowers possible in the western and northern areas during the afternoons. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 33°C to 34°C, accompanied by a noticeable muggy feel.

Of course, such weather conditions can pose multiple health risks. There's a higher likelihood of getting heatstroke these days, especially for those working outdoors. High temperatures can also place additional strain on the heart and lungs, posing greater risks for people with chronic conditions such as heart disease. Meanwhile, humid conditions are conducive to mold growth, which may trigger allergies for sensitive individuals.

To stay safe and healthy during these muggy days, please keep the following tips in mind:

  • Avoid, if possible, outdoor activities during the hottest hours, typically from 10:00 to 16:00.

  • Set your air conditioner's temperature between 26°C and 28°C, and avoid long direct exposure to cold air.

  • Wear light-colored, breathable clothing made of cotton or linen, and take sun protection measures when going outdoors.

  • Maintain a light diet, stay hydrated, and avoid eating leftovers that you may have stored overnight.

With hot and humid weather continuing, please take precautions against heat and stay safe this summer.
