Jinghua Fuman Park (also known as "Fu Park"), located along the East 6th Ring Road in the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, has just opened on a trial basis on April 29 and will officially open to visitors on May 1. The park is distinctive for its far-above-ground location.

Transformed from part of an elevated expressway, this linear "sky park" stretches 1.7 kilometers, with a total area of 16.6 hectares. It spans the Beijing section of northern Grand Canal and lies adjacent to three major cultural facilities in Tongzhou District (namely the Beijing Performing Arts Center, the Beijing Library, and the Grand Canal Museum of Beijing).

The park is an ideal destination for all-day leisure and vacation, featuring various themed activity spaces, with multiple entrances enabling seamless, barrier-free access. Visitors can move freely across this elevated structure. Pet-friendly services are also fully available.

Inside the park, dividing color lines are used to separate slow-traffic paths such as walking paths, jogging tracks, and sightseeing vehicle lanes. Among the paths, landscapes composed of daisies, Chinese roses, iris flowers, hydrangea flowers, and other plants contribute to the lively ambiance of the park.

The 12 installations of the "Fu" character ("Fu" means "fortune" in Chinese) spread across the northern and southern sections, incorporating traditional Chinese character design with Chinese zodiac culture, calligraphy, and auspicious Chinese motifs. Underlining a natural arrangement order and rhythmic balance, they present the traditional Chinese culture in a way that feels both contemporary and visually engaging.

The central section of the park is the Canal Scenic Area, through which the northern Grand Canal flows. Using the distinctive waterfront space along the canal, this area focuses on combining shopping and entertainment. In the Three-Dimensional Enjoyment Area on the northern side, the terrain features were incorporated into the designs of a variety of recreational facilities, such as slides and trestle bridges, forming a multi-functional sports area that meets the needs of leisure and fitness of people of all ages.

The park also houses a variety of creatively designed elevated attractions, such as the "Little Cloud" (小云朵) structure, the "Quantum Heart" (量子之心) slide, and the "Luminous Tunnel", offering diverse sensory experiences.

At the same time, the newly renovated Capital Public Art Creation Center adds a distinctive, artistic touch to this park. Installations and architectural decorations enhance the visual atmosphere throughout the area. A playful orange cat installation named "Deputy Director" (副主任) looks as if the cat knocked over a paint palette, spreading vibrant colors across the park. There's also a chimney of the former No.7 Paper Mill, which has been illuminated and transformed into a visual centerpiece. Other installations, including colorful hot-air balloons, giant roses, and cloud-themed swings, are scattered throughout, echoing the overall landscape design of the park.

From April 29 to May 5, the park and the Capital Public Art Creation Center will jointly host an event called "Unlimited Heights – Free Living Season" (高,不设限—自由生活季). Diverse sub-events have been scheduled, including a bread festival, rooftop concerts, aerial theater performances, a pet salon, a market highlighting intangible cultural heritage and cultural creativity, and an urban camping fair.
