On August 8, the World Robot Conference 2025 opened at Beiren Etrong International Exhibition and Convention Center in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. Over 200 Chinese and foreign robotics companies convened at this celebration to present more than 1,500 exhibits, with over 100 of these products making their global debut. Specifically, 50 humanoid robot companies unveiled their latest products, setting a new record for the number of the participating companies in the events of the same kind.

At the opening ceremony, the 10 Trends in Embodied Intelligent Robots (2025) was released, highlighting trends such as the emergence of large factories for embodied AI robots, and the development of large-scale, high-quality training datasets for embodied AI.

It was learned from the conference's main forum that Beijing has given support to the development of 200 novel robotics products across 12 categories, promoting their first trials, first applications, and upgrades in 134 scenarios across 11 fields. The city's robotics sector consistently ranked among China's top-tier ones. So far, Beijing has nurtured 57 "little giants" (i.e. the specialized, high-end and innovation-driven small and medium-sized enterprises that provide distinctive products or services), and given approvals to issue 33 surgical robot registration certificates. The city is now home to nearly 30 entities dedicated to the whole-body manufacturing of humanoid robots. All of these figures top the respective national charts of China.

The city's robotics industry has been growing rapidly. In 2024, its revenue jumped 50 percent year-on-year, while the first half of 2025 saw a further 40-percent increase.
