Tonghui Town (通惠小镇), a European-style precinct beside Beijing's Tonghui River that had lain dormant for more than a decade, reopened on October 29 as Laihui Club Commercial Street (莱惠Club商街), home to nearly 30 stores.

Situated next to the core of Beijing's Central Business District (CBD), this commercial street spans more than 11,000 square meters and comprises 16 freestanding buildings with pointed roofs, arched windows and large, brightly colored wall paintings. Completed in 2009, the complex resembles a village belonging only to fairy tales. It has been rebranded this year as a mixed-use hub with dining establishments, venues for art events, spaces for leisure and social activities, and daily amenities, catering mainly to local residents and office workers in the area.

Laihui Club allows its commercial establishments to operate with extended opening hours. During its trial period, the commercial strip regularly hosted live band performances, stand-up comedy shows, crosstalk performances and intangible cultural heritage-themed showcases, extending evening service hours for consumers. Its European-style architecture and horse-carriage sculptures have long been popular photo spots among young people.

Moving forward, Laihui Club Commercial Street plans to team up with nearby attractions such as Happy Valley (an amusement park) and Cool Park (酷车小镇) to serve as a new landmark for consumers and tourists. The street will vigorously foster "first" offerings, including first stores, product launches, first exhibitions and debut shows. It will accelerate the development of a signature "Midnight Diner" block and a "Night Beijing" nighttime landmark destination, cultivate "small but beautiful" community-oriented commercial establishments, and nurture a "micro-staycation" consumption ecosystem. These efforts aim to deepen the integration of improving people's livelihoods and boosting consumption in the local area.
