Recently, the results of the 2025 Forbes China's ranking on the international consumption competitiveness of central business districts were released. Thanks to its high level of internationalization and strong consumer activity, Beijing's CBD secured the top position again, marking its third consecutive year of dominance in this evaluation.

Beijing CBD also topped the last two Forbes China's central business district competitiveness rankings. According to the newly released 2025 Global Business Districts Attractiveness Report, Beijing CBD maintained its positions as No. 1 in China and second place in Asia, and climbed to sixth globally, achieving a new high in this global ranking.

For this year's evaluation, Forbes China also introduced three sub-categories for the first time: Benchmark Consumer Brands, Emerging Consumer Brands, and Service Innovation Brands. Following a thorough evaluation across multiple core metrics, Beijing CBD ranked first overall once again.

Today, Beijing CBD is a premier destination for consumers, offering both trendsetting appeal and high-quality experiences. It is developing the CBD & Sanlitun International Consumption Experience Zone, aiming to build a 100-billion-yuan world-class commercial district. The district is now home to nearly 60 percent of Beijing's Michelin-starred and Black Pearl restaurants, and around 40 percent of the city's premium cafés.

Major shopping malls in the CBD now support payments with foreign bank cards via POS systems. Notably, the China World Mall has become one of Beijing's first instant tax refund points for departing visitors. The diverse shopping options in the district have enhanced the international visitor experience.

This year, Beijing CBD opened a pop-up pedestrian street, which featured a wide range of activities that set new shopping trends. From June to October, special events and exclusive coupons were offered along the pedestrian street, increasing foot traffic and sales at surrounding commercial establishments by more than 20 percent.

Looking ahead, more surprises are on the way for this dynamic district, with new consumption scenarios and experiences set to be unveiled.
