On October 18, the World Conference on Traditional Medicine 2026 hosted a special press conference for Beijing's achievements in the field of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), announcing several milestones of the city in digitally empowered innovation and transformation of TCM.

As of September 2026, Beijing had issued 272 standards in eight batches for TCM formula granules, with 31 pediatric TCM preparations available for city-wide dispensing.

Beijing is advancing deeper integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and TCM. A total of 168 digital and intelligent application scenarios for TCM have been collected. One of the representative cases is the TCM digital health agent "Shu Xiao He" (数小禾), which made its debut during the conference. Its core algorithms and TCM health knowledge base have fully independent intellectual property rights.

The capital city has pioneered the development of international medical tourism in the area of TCM by building an integrated service model combining medical care, tourism and culture. Drawing on 21 key medical institutions, 40 international medical tourism service packages featuring TCM have been launched.
