Recently, the companies listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE) have begun releasing their half-year performance reports. As of August 26, 213 companies had disclosed their reports, among which 179 companies were profitable, accounting for over 80 percent of the total. A total of 177 companies posted revenue above 100 million yuan, while 17 recorded net profits attributable to owners of the parent companies of more than 100 million yuan.

The data recorded in the first half of 2026 is as follows.

The combined revenue reached 83.818 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year rise of 8.26 percent. The total net profit attributable to owners of the parent companies stood at 6.39 billion yuan, up by 5.24 percent year-on-year. A total of 84 companies reported year-on-year growth in their net profits attributable to owners of the parent companies, accounting for approximately 39 percent of the total. Meanwhile, 30 companies recorded growth rates higher than 50 percent, and 19 companies more than doubled their net profits. In addition, 17 companies listed on BSE either turned losses into profits or narrowed their net losses.

High-growth sectors led the way. The upstream new-energy material sector, the shipping sector, and several chemical sub-segments demonstrated strong performances. Backed by demand for AI computing power, consumer electronics and more, the electrical equipment, hardware and machinery sectors maintained steady revenue growth. In contrast, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, as well as auto parts industries have seen their overall profits decline, which resulted from volume-based centralized procurement, and weak recovery in consumer spending, among other causes.
