On August 26, the media briefing for the thematic forums of the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) took place at Shougang Park. According to the briefing, the forums are organized around four themes: "Openness and Integration", "Win-win Cooperation", "Digital and Intelligent Innovation", and Green Development". The 15 thematic forums will run from September 9 to 12.

Openness and Integration

The 7th Forum on Development of Trade in Services will be held at Shougang Park on September 10, during which three reports will be released: Report on China's Development of Trade in Services 2026, Digital Trade: Development and Cooperation 2026, and China Service Trade Development Index Report 2026. The Beijing Overseas Comprehensive Service Platform (北京海外综合服务平台) will also be officially launched at the forum.

Win-Win Cooperation

The 2026 Beijing Capital International Medical Conference will be held on the afternoon of September 12, where attendees will delve into topics including new-drug R&D, the Healthy China Initiative, frontiers of global medicine, medicine-engineering integration and AI, as well as global pandemic prevention and response. During the conference, five cooperation projects are expected to be signed, including the health cooperation agreement between the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the French Embassy in China, and the China-Africa medical collaboration agreement between Jiangsu Province Hospital and hospitals in Egypt.

Digital and Intelligent Innovation

The 2026 E-Commerce Conference will be held from September 9 to 10. A number of new reports will be released, including the 2026 Report on High-quality Development of AI-empowered Live-stream E-commerce (2026人工智能赋能直播电商高质量发展报告). In the meantime, the "2026 Beijing Service Consumption Series Campaign" will be launched and the Initiative for Joint Actions on High-quality E-commerce Development (电商高质量发展联合行动倡议书) will be issued.

Green Development

The 5th Meteorological Economy Forum will be held on the morning of September 10. It focuses on the integrated development of AI applications in meteorology, new energy, green energy and climate governance. For the first time, a national work plan for surveying wind and solar energy resources for carbon neutrality will be released.
