As the weather cools and crisp autumn air arrives, the following weekends are ideal for taking your pets out. This time, we have curated a list of the city's waterfront spaces for you and your furry companions!
Langyuan Station: Even More Pet-Friendly
Located in Chaoyang District, Langyuan Station sits beside the Bahe River. This area regularly hosts markets, art exhibitions, performances, brand pop-ups and other events.
The area is now home to nearly 50 pet-friendly businesses. Dog walkers can be spotted here and there, and some shops have even set up pet water stations at their entrances, creating a lively socializing atmosphere for pets.
Reminder: A free parking lot is available outside the park, but spaces are limited. Parking is also available inside the park, with spaces generally easier to find before 10:00 on weekends.
Yong Ding He Ji: A Dedicated Pet Paradise
Phase II of the Yong Ding He Ji (永定河集, Yongding River Market) will officially open on September 7, with the upgrade of its public installations underway. In the Phase I area, a dedicated 50-square-meter pet playground has been added, with a separate off-leash area and play facilities where dogs can run, play and socialize to their hearts' content.
Nearby, Shangri-La Shougang Park, Beijing (北京首钢园香格里拉酒店) is widely known as one of Beijing's most pet-friendly destinations. The hotel's Power Station lounge and bar is a key pet-friendly area where pets can rest comfortably after running around Shougang Park. Better still, the hotel also offers specially designed pet-friendly guest rooms.
Highlight: From September 5 to 13, the naked-eye 3D light show "Scenic Western Beijing, Vibrant Yongding River" (山水京西 活力永定), which is centered on the landscapes of the "Two Parks and One River" (Shougang Park, the Beijing Garden Expo Park, and the Yongding River), will dazzle everyone at Yong Ding He Ji.
PAWSBAR Pet Paradise by Wenyu River
Known as the "Green Lung of Beijing", the Beijing Wenyuhe Park has two dedicated pet playgrounds: one in the East Park of the Chaoyang Demonstration Area and the other in the Linxi Huaying area in Phase II of the Chaoyang section.
The PAWSBAR pet park in the Chaoyang Demonstration Area is like a "kindergarten" where pets can get their first taste of outdoor fun. The other in the Linxi Huaying area, meanwhile, is a true "one-stop service center" covering every aspect of pet life.
Designed as a spacious social hub for pets, the park features professional pet facilities and large lawns where dogs can run and play freely. Owners can also relax at PAWSBAR with a drink. Dedicated competition areas and a range of fun themed activities give furry friends plenty of opportunities to show off their energy.
Reminder: Please note the opening hours. Both locations open at 10:00. The playground at the Chaoyang Demonstration Area closes at 22:00, while the Phase II location closes at 19:00.
Hongshi Pet Paradise at Liangshui River - Pomegranate Forest Park
Hongshi Pet Paradise, located in Liangshui River - Pomegranate Forest Park along the Liangshui River, is a pet-friendly interactive space designed especially for pets. Set against the natural waterfront, it features a lawn where pets can play freely, a fun obstacle course and a pet rest area. Safety fences surround the site to keep furry friends safe while they play.
Reminder: Please do not swim, play or camp in the river channel or along its banks. Stay safe.
An All-Round Gem: Jinzhandian Waterfront Space
Jinzhandian Waterfront Space is a newly opened pet-friendly destination where visitors can enjoy dog walking and lakeside cycling all in one place. Its huge lawn gives furry friends plenty of room to roll around and run to their hearts' content.
Reminder: Bring your leash and waste bags, and give way to elderly people and children.
